Amy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been a registered nurse for more than 15 years, and in 2024, I achieved a longtime goal by graduating as a family nurse practitioner. From a young age, I knew I wanted to work in the medical field. I’ve always loved caring for people. At the same time, I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and knew I wanted to create something of my own.
While I was in graduate school, I had a defining moment that set me on the path to aesthetics. I observed a patient receiving lip filler. At first, she seemed nervous, but when she looked in the mirror afterward, her entire face lit up. She couldn’t stop smiling at herself. I knew then that I wanted to help people experience that same feeling.
That’s what inspired me to open Monroe Lane Aesthetics here in Orlando. My passion is helping people feel their absolute best, whether through wellness services like weight loss and primary care, or through aesthetic treatments that help clients look refreshed and confident. For me, it’s about combining medical expertise with artistry to make people feel healthier, happier, and more self-assured.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Going back to school as a wife, homeschool mom, and full-time nurse came with plenty of challenges. On top of that, starting a business in the medical aesthetics space requires navigating strict regulations, finding the right location, and learning the business side of things like accounting, marketing, and legal compliance which wasn’t my area of expertise for sure!
I’ve always believed that the most meaningful goals aren’t supposed to be easy. Every obstacle has pushed me to grow, to ask better questions, and to lean on my support system. I have learned so much! Those challenges are what make Monroe Lane Aesthetics so rewarding today. It’s built from perseverance, passion, and a deep commitment.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Monroe Lane Aesthetics, I specialize in medical aesthetics and wellness services designed to help people feel confident and healthy inside and out. That includes neurotoxins like Botox, fillers, weight management, and primary care–based wellness treatments.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Many patients come in nervous about trying something new, like Botox, and I completely understand because I felt the same way before I ever tried it myself. Some of my favorite moments are when those patients leave reassured, more confident, and grateful for an experience that felt safe and pressure-free. I take the time to educate, listen to their goals, and create a plan that feels natural, never like they’re sitting in front of a salesperson. Many of my patients say they appreciate that I’m conservative in my approach and focused on enhancing their features, not changing who they are.
What sets me apart is that I combine 15+ years of medical experience with an artistic eye and a true passion for empathetic patient care. My goal is always to make people feel comfortable, informed, and confident. At the end of the day, it’s not just about how someone looks when they leave my office, it’s about how they feel.
