Conversations with Anni Stores

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anni Stores

Hi Anni, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my YouTube journey during covid. Due to being categorised as a ‘vulnerable person’ (due to my disability), my family and I had to shield during this time. Although I was working remotely, we couldn’t leave the house and I missed seeing friends/family, taking trips, even just going shopping! So I started my YouTube to give me something to focus on during these difficult times and to also provide my family with an opportunity to see us (virtually) and keep up to date with what we were up to!

As soon as restrictions were lifted and travel was permitted, we pivoted our channel to filming more of our trips (in addition to daily life). We love capturing our memories of family trips and love to look back on these. So far, our trips have taken us to Orlando multiple times, but also further flung places and we can’t wait to keep sharing our adventures.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For the most part, yes. YouTube is such an intuitive platform to work within and I’ve been fortunate enough to meet so many wonderful people and families, through sharing what we do. We love hearing that our tips or experiences have positively benefited other families’ experiences. We continue to learn and grow and we’re always looking for ways to improve our channel and our content.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We have a growing YouTube channel, but also love sharing our experiences and memories via Instagram. YouTube tends to be focused on our trips, but Instagram is more “real-life” day to day.

For our trips, we’ve spent a lot of time in Disney and Universal theme parks, but have recently fallen in love with cruising (Disney cruises, in particular!) and our next year on YouTube will see much more cruising – including on Disney’s newest cruise ship, The Treasure, our first back to back cruise, and our longest ever cruise!

We like to vlog our experiences as daily trip vlogs, but also share tips and tricks that we think other families would find useful.

I’m most proud of growing a small channel to nearly 4,000 subscribers and building a small community who like to chat and also share their experiences. I’m also extremely proud of being able to provide these opportunities for our family as it wasn’t something that my husband and I were able to experience growing up.

Each vlogger has something unique that sets them apart from others, whether it’s the types of trip they take, or their family set up, or just how they document their experiences. You may like our channel if you like Disney theme parks, Disney cruising, Universal studios, eating, merchandise and themed outfits!

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Keep remembering why you started documenting your experiences. For us, it’s to capture the memories and look back on them in the future. Social media will never be my full time job or income so I feel that gives me the luxury of having more fun with it, not taking it too seriously and not putting any pressure on myself.
