Today we’d like to introduce you to Artiesha Garcia.
Hi Artiesha; thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstories.
SWEET PUFFS started in the year of 2019. After graduating high school, I attended Florida A&M University for 2 years, then decided to finish with my AA at Valencia college. While going through life as a new young adult, I had little to no support to get me through college and decided that this was not where I wanted to be in life. I knew that God created me to do much more! So I prayed about it, moved back home, got a job and a car, and then Started Sweet Puffs. I always felt like I was created to create jobs for others. I may not be there yet, but I’m only moments away. At first, my business name was “Sweet Puffs Cotton Candy,” but I decided to go even further and started baking. Now I’m going 3 years strong, seasons are changing, and things are shifting in my favor.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
Some of my struggles were time, marketing, and lack of training. I had to set personal goals for myself to meet to perfect my gift. I created a syllabus for what I wanted to learn and perfect to become the best baker I could be. I set Alarms for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to post stuff on social media, and I manage my time better. I also follow other Bakers and plan to take classes in the areas in which I need more work. I celebrate the small things because we all must go through a process to get to where we want to be. If we skip this process, we won’t value what we have or be able to reach others and encourage others to keep pushing and striving to reach their goals.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from other Bakers is that I want to make baking fun for everyone. As the seasons change, bakers can adapt to holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, parties, and gatherings and still be relevant and popular with the people. I launched my first “Kids Christmas cake decorating class” on December 18, 2022. I’ll be doing this monthly or bimonthly, depending on the demand. I plan to expand by teaching other bakers how to start their own fun baking or cake decorating classes to earn more income while doing what they already love.
What do you think about happiness?
I love being able to raise my 2 small children at home while working on my Business from home and being heavily involved in ministry. My Husband brings home the bacon, and he also supports what I do.
