Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Bullard.
Hi Brandon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
Our culinary journey began 30 years ago when Donna, Brandon’s mom, known as ‘Redz,’ found her passion in cooking for others. With over three decades of experience in Miami, we recently moved to Orlando. Our first major event in the new city was the Rhythm and Brews Fest in Sanford, where we unexpectedly secured 2nd place in the Pit Master Award category. This marked a thrilling milestone in our career, affirming our commitment to sharing the rich flavors of Caribbean cuisine. Now settled in Orlando, we’re excited to continue our culinary adventure and bring a taste of our passion to a broader audience.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Our journey has been relatively smooth thus far, but we’ve encountered a few challenges like any venture. One of the main hurdles has been adapting to a new city after relocating to Orlando. Establishing our presence and building a customer base in a different location presented its challenges. Additionally, as a new business, we’ve had to navigate the intricacies of the local culinary scene and establish ourselves in a competitive market. However, our solid and supportive team, essentially a tight-knit family, has been instrumental in overcoming these obstacles. We’re dedicated to helping each other and are confident that with our shared commitment, we can handle any bumps in the road that may come our way as we continue to grow.
Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is a true labor of love. By day, I’m an electrical engineer; by night, I transform into a pit master. What sets me apart is my specialization in crafting unique dishes that capture the essence of Redz, with a particular focus on creating the juiciest ribs you’ll ever taste. I’m known for my skills behind the smoker and open flame grill, where I infuse flavors honed over 30 years. My unwavering commitment to preserving the culinary traditions that inspired me throughout my journey makes me most proud. This dedication, combined with a relentless pursuit of excellence, truly sets me apart from others in the world of barbecue and Caribbean cuisine.
