Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Hudson.
Hi Brandon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am originally from Central Illinois but spent some time in various regions of the US and World focusing on becoming a professional performer. I took my first art class at 4 years old, began singing and gymnastics at 10, show choir from 14-18, and training in dance at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO at 20. Prior to graduating in 2013, I had already began my professional career by being friends with Bugs Bunny at Six Flags St. Louis, friends with Pluto at Disney World, as well as the International Tour of West Side Story. Since then, I have appeared as a replacement swing in Broadway’s “Hamilton: An American Musical” (Original Broadway Cast), a replacement swing in Broadway’s Head Over Heels (Original Broadway Cast). I made my acting for film debut in 2020 in Dolly Parton’s “Christmas On The Square” playing the character Randy. Plus, two more films due out in 2022.
Most recently, I created B90 Creative, LLC, A new a la carte style creative service that brings various types of content and performances to life. We focus on Creative Direction, Choreography, and Editing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. LOL. It is finally starting to get easier, but I have had to struggle AND hustle for 10+ years non-stop to get to this place. The struggles are not worth talking about, because they are to be expected when you choose this profession. Or when this profession chooses you, rather. I just keep my eye on the prize.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Most people know me as a Dancer, but I began to make the transition to the hot seat in 2020. Meaning, I finally believed in myself enough to be put in charge or take ownership of a role. I can now proudly say that I am a Dancer, Actor, Singer, and creator who is confident in his abilities. I think what I am most proud of is that throughout my career, I have been able to maintain me (though it has been hard). I give thanks to God and my family/friends for that one. They will always call me out when I’m trippin. I remind myself that I chose the harder route to ensure that what I am doing is real and that I never lose sight of that connection to humanity. That connection steers my work and how I work.
What are your plans for the future?
Honestly, I roll with it. But I want to expand B90 Creative and make more films!
