Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittani James.
Hi Brittani, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Back in 2018, I decided to pursue opening a wedding planning business.
I had already received my Event Management degree from the Rosen College of Hospitality, but wanted certification as well, so became certified as a wedding planner through The Certified Wedding Planner Society. I launched my business in June of 2019 and hosted 3 styled shoots to get my name out there and build my portfolio. All 3 were picked up to be published, and I signed 3 clients under Love Out Loud Events.
Unfortunately, I was only able to plan and execute one client’s wedding before covid shut down the wedding industry and I paused my business. In September of 2022, I relocated to the Orlando area and have since re-launched my business in January of 2023. With a lot of hard work, sweat, tears, and passion – I just signed my first client post covid and have several styled shoots on the calendar for this year.
I wake up every day grateful for the opportunity to do what I love, and I can’t wait to see my business grow as I navigate this new time.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not! I’d venture to say everyone in the wedding industry – and even in business in general – was affected by covid in some way. Along with that, I unexpectedly relocated to a new area, basically having to reestablish myself in a new market.
While building my business, I have faced my fair share of last-minute model cancellations, inclement weather on shoot days, vendors backing out last minute, and catching covid myself right before my first styled shoot.
Additionally, I recently was laid off from my full-time job which has forced me to look for alternative jobs while I continue to build my business and clientele. My path to business has been nothing if not challenging, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I chose this entrepreneur life knowing no day would be boring – and it has not disappointed me!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an event and wedding planner in the Orlando area. My specialty is serving clients who are unique, one-of-a-kind, out-of-the-box thinkers who want to steer away from the typical and customize and curate their events to who they are as a person. I guess I would be known for just that – unique and untraditional ways to showcase the extraordinary in events.
I am most proud of my drive and passion for the industry. This is truly what sets my soul on fire and provides me with the drive necessary to keep pushing through the hard times. I pride myself in my work and truly treat each project, client, and event as if they are my own. Authenticity and passion are the core beliefs behind everything I do, and I show up each day excited to do something different and stand out from the rest.
What sets me apart from others is my willingness to do what is necessary to provide the freedom of authenticity to my clients. I never want someone to be anyone other than who they are and I want their unique event to reflect this as well.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk-taking.
In my personal life, my idea of a risk is driving when the gas light is on. I am so not a risk taker – but in my business, it’s a different ball game. I take risks every day by striving to do differently. While everyone else is planning boho, in-season designs, and events, I’m hanging aerialists from the ceiling hoping it translates.
