Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Moreau.
Hi Carrie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a deep love for building things that matter. Sometimes that has meant building a business, sometimes it has meant building confidence in someone else, and sometimes it has meant rebuilding myself. My entrepreneurial journey started more than 20 years ago, not from a master plan, but from a desire to create solutions where I saw gaps and to bring people together in the process.
Certified Best Roofing began when my brother, Derrick, and I saw how often homeowners felt lost when dealing with contractors. We wanted to change that experience. We built our company around trust, education, and communication, treating every project as if it were our own home. What began as a small, local operation has evolved into a business renowned for its quality, reliability, and genuine heart.
Along the way, I’ve learned that success is about more than what you build; it’s about who you become in the process. That belief inspired me to start my podcast, Wonder Women Who Build, and to launch my first community group, The Oviedo Bourbon Club. These spaces allow me to connect, empower, and celebrate others who are chasing purpose in their own unique way.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I’ve learned that the bumps along the way are where the real growth happens. There have been seasons filled with uncertainty, pressure, and hard lessons. Running a business means wearing every hat at some point, and there were times when I questioned if I could carry it all. From managing cash flow and team dynamics to navigating hurricanes and a constantly changing industry, there have been moments that tested every ounce of grit I had.
One of the biggest challenges has been learning to trust myself amidst chaos. There were times when I had to rebuild a team, restructure the business, or make difficult decisions that affected people I cared about, but each of those moments taught me something about strength, grace, and leadership. I learned how to slow down, listen, and make decisions from a place of clarity instead of fear.
Today, I can look back at every obstacle and see how it shaped the leader I am. The road hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth every lesson.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Certified Best Roofing, I wear many hats as co-owner and CEO, but at the core of what I do is connection. We specialize in residential and commercial roofing, offering a range of services that include repairs, replacements, and proactive maintenance programs designed to help homeowners protect their most valuable asset. What sets us apart is our approach to every project. We don’t believe in pressure or confusion; we believe in education, transparency, and service that feels personal.
I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve built in our community. We’ve become known for being reliable, responsive, and genuinely invested in our clients. Homeowners, realtors, and property managers trust us because they know we do what we say we’ll do. We’ve also developed creative solutions that make roofing easier for people, such as our InstaQuote tool, our Value in Repair program that credits repairs toward a future reroofing project, and our pay-at-closing option for realtors.
Beyond the work itself, I’m proud of the team and culture we’ve created. We believe that excellence and kindness can coexist. We show up for our community through local sponsorships, charitable projects, and daily acts of service that go beyond the roofline. At the end of the day, what truly sets us apart is that we lead with heart and we build with integrity. It’s not just about roofs for me; it’s about building trust, creating opportunities, and leaving a lasting legacy.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that success rarely happens in a straight line. It’s built in the quiet moments, the early mornings, the late nights, and the times you choose to keep going when it would be easier to stop. I hope that anyone reading this feels encouraged to take the next step toward whatever they’re building, even if the path isn’t clear yet.
For me, the most rewarding part of this journey has been the people: the clients who trust us, the team that believes in the vision, and the community that continues to cheer us on. I’m endlessly grateful for that support and for the chance to make an impact in the place I call home.
And to anyone chasing a dream, remember this: someone has done it before, so you can too.
