Today we’d like to introduce you to Chynna Johnson
Hi Chynna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story began in high school and I didn’t even know. I never had plans on being in the beauty industry but God did. I started off curling hair in my last period in high school. Who would’ve thought that curling hair would lead to me working fashion week and on tv sets. Along my journey, I ran into a lot of obstacles but those obstacles allowed me to grow into the stylist that I am today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve faced many struggles along my journey. One of my biggest struggles was money management. Being so young and making so much, it slipped through my hands like water. Each year I feel that I learned something new about myself and my business but that was one of my many struggles. I’m more appreciative about what I have now and I move smarter.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m honestly like Hannah Montana. I’m an extensions specialist by day and editorial hairstylist by night. Overall I’m a hair artist. I take pride in what I do and I love it. I’m most proud of my resilience and how graceful I go about business. I’ve received many opportunities not just off of my skills but me as a whole.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I pray God can place me in the hands of someone that can mentor & guide me along my journey honestly also. I’m no where near where I want to be but I trust that everything will work out. In my opinion, just be open to having conversations with all sorts of people. You never know who you’ll meet.
