Today we’d like to introduce you to Dani Mimosa.
Hi Dani, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Wow don’t even know where to begin! Let’s go back to when I decided to leave my 9-5 in Oct 2023 to pursue hair. Over the years I worked my way from assisting to taking my own clients. I didn’t know then but that was going to open the doors to something way bigger than being a hairstylist.
As I was building my clients, I was working nights, trying to build an online business and started a mindset and wellness podcast. All great things but nothing felt like I was progressing forward. Or so I thought.
I was struggling with being consistent online and I knew social media was important but I would always fall off and go ghost.
It wasn’t until this year my bestie needed help with her social media. To edit her videos just so she wouldn’t fall behind. Word got out and it led to other people wanting me to help them with their social media.
Me.
The girl that couldn’t even post a carousel. In less than three months I grew my social media management business to 7 clients. I do event recaps while I still take clients behind the chair. Wild to think that I’m living a life that I get paid to be me. Help other creators and business owners show up consistently online.
It’s funny how the one thing you struggled with, is exactly the thing you will help people with.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not! But I like to always see the cup half full. I knew that this was a part of the plot.
I faced not only external but mainly internal doubt and fear if I could make this happen.
Entrepreneurship is legit 80% mindset and 20% of the actual work you put in. It’s a nonnegotiable to have an insane amount of belief in yourself and your purpose.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a local hairstylist/ content creator/ social media manager.
I’m proud that this business is new and it has grown faster than I expected. All because I had the audacity to help my besties with their content which led to other business owners investing in my work.
What sets me apart from others is my perspective. I am a walking hype girl and do see the difference in my clients confidence when they work with me or sit in my chair.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Have AUDACITY. Done is better than perfect. Being ready is a decision not a feeling. You need to be your biggest fan and work on your mindset to think bigger and go after more.
