Today we’d like to introduce you to Edgardo Velez.
Hi Edgardo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always loved content creation but was never given a chance or encouraged to try it out; my family was pretty controlling about our likes and disliked growing up, so it was hard to let my imagination run wild. My wife has pushed me to chase my dreams, telling me not to care what people think. Her encouragement led me to start posting content, and before I knew it, I started going viral left and right! If it weren’t for her, I probably would’ve kept all my ideas as just ideas in my head.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been easy, I think our biggest critics are ourselves, and I’m always battling myself, constantly thinking my content is not good enough or that I should just quit what I’m doing. Still, my support system is amazing; my wife is practically my anchor. Whenever I’m being too critical of myself, she grounds me and lets me know everything is okay and that I have as much support as I do for a reason. There’s also a creator group I’m in where I met a lot of amazing creators that I started as fans of, and now I’m happy to call them all my friends, and they are amazing, talented, humble, and supportive. It’s great.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an online content creator on TikTok, instagram, and YouTube. I make gaming/anime skits and reviews, and I talk about stuff going on in the gaming world. I think my flair sets me apart from others; I’m constantly coming up with ideas, or if I’m inspired by something I’ve already seen, I try to make it my own and add in my own ideas.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
It sounds cheesy but living here, where people usually vacation, has its major benefits! I love how there are so many different places to film and visit and many beautiful locations to explore. It gives me ideas left and right. The only downside I can think of is a lot of close-minded people around, but I usually ignore them.
