Today we’d like to introduce you to Elvis Sanchez.
Hi Elvis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Venezuela and I’m currently living in Florida, chasing my goals and dreams. I made an album when I was 14 and I released a couple of songs when I was 16, not knowing what a “digital platform” was, so it’s all in YouTube.
I dropped my actual debut single in 2020, it’s called “Very Nice” and it’s a Spanglish Latin Pop just to honor my Latin roots. Then I started making a lot of acapella covers on Instagram, using my skills as a vocal coach and singer to create content that feels fresh yet nostalgic at the same time, which took me to the eyes of big artists like Shakira (Posted me on her Instagram feed and all her platforms, and I’m still there), Why Don’t We (Posted me on their stories), Ava Max (Liked it), and more. I ended up creating +70 covers.
In 2021, I decided to actually get my career started as a singer-songwriter, so I had all my “releases” planned out from June 2021 to July 2022. I dropped my summer single “Heartbreak Island”, my collaboration with Acero, “El Unico”, my collaboration with Alek Anzus “Broken Pictures”, and my single “Brightest Darkness” with the Spanish talented diva Patry Aguilar. All of them are written by me and my collaborators, while “El Unico” is also produced by me. I also released some acoustic versions of those songs produced by me.
I got featured on the Billboard Argentina Vlog in June. My next releases are totally different from these. I want to be as versatile as I can be without crossing the line, so my content feels versatile yet cohesive.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As an independent artist, I’ve hired people in the past in order to make videos, photoshoots, etc, but I decided to study everything I have to know in order to have a good release. Currently, I produce, write, direct, edit, design artworks, take some of my own photos, etc.
We even dropped merch for the release of “El Unico”, in which I had the opportunity to show another side of me, 3D Modeling. I designed and printed key chains with the theme of the release. I basically fell in love with every aspect of releasing music and that’s why I’m so passionate about being an independent artist.
I’m even posting a vlog really soon about how I filmed 3 music videos in 4 days totally by myself, I want to show every side of me as an artist and encourage all the independent artists out there to get up, learn how to do whatever they’re waiting for someone else to do, and let their creativity take over, instead of sitting and wait for a filmmaker or producer so they can release music.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a singer-songwriter, vocal coach, and producer who doesn’t only want to drop music. I’m in love with the art of immersing people in stories, non-existent worlds, or a theme, through my lyrics and visuals.
When I drop music, I don’t take it as a simple release, I want people to take it as a moment or experience, I create visuals to make the viewer/listener feel involved in the theme of the song. I also direct and edit, so it’s easier for me to bring my own ideas to life.
As I said before… I want to be as versatile as I can be without crossing the line, so my content feels versatile yet cohesive.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I just want my content to reach as many people and artists as it possibly can. I also love collaborating with other artists, so I’m open to that!!
