Conversations with Emelynn Priore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emelynn Priore.

Hi Emelynn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started to fall in love with photography through a class in my freshman year of high school. I loved it so much that I decided to get my major in photography at Daytona State and developed a career in photography by working for theme parks and dance companies. While all this was going on, behind the scenes I decided to start my own business in photography.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Having your own business in anything can be a struggle. Some days you feel like you’ve come to a fork in the road or to a complete stop. It is definitely hard to create a clientele but with time and patience it comes.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love doing portraiture photography which is taking a picture of a person and sharing their story through an image. Being able to grow a persons confidence and make them feel comfortable are my top priorities and what makes this job so rewarding. I am most proud of being able to show my work to people and see their reactions and see the confidence and happiness in them grow. My art sets me apart from others because I make sure I keep the person genuine I do minimal editing keeping the person authentically themselves and making sure they are the center of attention.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years I see my company growing. Soon I will have my own studio and be able to do studio work. One day I will be able to travel to clients throughout the globe and take pictures of anyone everywhere and share everyone’s stories.
