Conversations with Emma Budakci

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Budakci.

Hi Emma, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my career driven by a passion for fashion and marketing. After graduating from LIM College in New York City in 2019, I interned at Harper’s Bazaar on the publishing and advertising side, where I fell in love with the industry. As advertising shifted toward social media and influencer marketing, I went on to work at two social media agencies in New York with beauty clients.

After COVID, I decided to branch out on my own and build a business rooted in creativity and meaningful client relationships. Today, I run a social media marketing studio helping both small and large businesses with branding, website design, and social media—from realtors and therapists to doctors, med spas, and interior designers. I specialize in building brands from the ground up and bringing ideas to life—work that’s both challenging and deeply rewarding!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like many entrepreneurs, my biggest obstacle was starting before I felt fully “ready.” Leaving the security of agency life during an uncertain time forced me to trust my instincts, build confidence, and create opportunities instead of waiting for them. Navigating the shift from employee to business owner wasn’t always easy, and still isnt, i just have to trust myself!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Seeing firsthand how social platforms were reshaping the advertising landscape inspired me to take a leap and launch EMGB Media—an agency focused on humanizing brands through purposeful content, cohesive branding, and strategic digital storytelling. Today, we create bespoke content from concept to execution, from branding and website design to on-site social filming and management for platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Our work centers on helping business owners — from realtors and therapists to med spas and designers — elevate their presence and connect with their audiences in a way that feels authentic and engaging.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice is if you want it bad enough, you will figure out a way. Do your research, start by making a list of your short and long term plan, write out some goals and a timeline.
