Conversations with Floriana Bolonha

Today we’d like to introduce you to Floriana Bolonha.

Hi Floriana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In 2009, I was visiting Orlando’s parks for the first time, and it has since become my favorite place to vacation with my family. The magic and fun made my vacation really unique, and I always had the impression that time didn’t pass there. Every time I returned, it was a step back in time. From one visit a year, it went to two, three, four, totaling over a hundred visits to the parks in the last ten years.

In 2018, seeing many people planning a trip to this special destination, although with many doubts and no clear plan, I thought I could put my knowledge on a blog, helping travelers like me to truly enjoy their trip, with a balanced view between a well-planned way and some space for ad-hoc enjoyment and contemplation – which are also so important.

In each post I create, I like to talk about my experience and help people to assemble their own travel itinerary. They can emphasize their specific preferences, enjoy family time and specific year seasons activities. After all, there is no shortage of seasonal events in Orlando and surrounding areas. That’s how “Florida com Flori” was born, which bears my name, my way of thinking and my taste for what to do every day in the parks, restaurants and different areas in Florida.

Two years after its creation came the pandemic and consequently people stopped traveling. I went ahead with my posts, despite the smaller focus on the travel planning itself and nowadays, the content available is much more complete, with different ideas and suggestions. Now that people are returning to travel, it is stronger than ever to all dreamers who love this magnificent area.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We always find some difficulties, especially when writing a blog. There are many people who echo opinions, multiple publications about the same thing without a critical point of view, creating some common sense – that actually doesn’t make a lot of sense. But I think this is part of the path, and in general I am very satisfied and happy with the result of my blog, which continues to follow a path to become more complete every day and with an engaged audience.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My job is to write a blog with travel tips for Orlando, focusing from parks to small local attractions. I like to talk about what is new, share my opinion on what truly makes a difference during a lifetime vacation in Florida – and give tips on excellent restaurants inside the parks – often overlooked by visitors. I am very proud to write all my knowledge in each post in a clear and objective way, in an attempt to help each reader to assemble and plan their trip according to their expectations and financial planning.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
For me, making a weekly plan about the content that I would write each day was and is extremely important both for my personal organization and for the continuous progress of the blog. As you progress, you naturally find people who share the same passion as you and are multipliers in many aspects – from styles to techniques. I’ve learned over time to have a core set of networking friends who are very complementary between ourselves – and everyone grows with that. I always try to update myself about general content changes, In order to update my posts and revisit my photo gallery. After all, changes happen constantly, and that’s why I always need to be careful so that all my content doesn’t get out of date. Write daily posts and publicize them mainly on social networks, this consistency essentially expands the reach for my blog, from audience to network and mentors.
