Today we’d like to introduce you to Gilna Nelson.
Hi Gilna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started college at Florida State College in Jacksonville in 2010 to start the journey of being a mainstream radio broadcaster. Toward the end of my Associate in Arts degree in 2013, I had an encounter with Jesus Christ that changed my whole life forever. Through the course of life Jesus Christ was pulling me closer to Him and I was pulling more into the world. After taking a year break from school, I went to Florida International University in 2014 as a Communication major. During my time in school, I worked an internship as a podcast producer at Webmaster Radio that I enjoyed. I end up starting my own podcast show called “This Just end” where I talked about celebrity news and I hate it. I took a break from media for soul searching. I end up giving my life to Christ Jesus. Fast forward, I end up moving to Atlanta in 2016. I started working in Corporate America. My parents planted the idea of working a good job after obtaining a good education, but seating at a desk all day was not my personality. That was my parent’s dream. During those days, I would hope my life would be better. I knew I loved podcasting, Jesus Christ, beach, traveling, and food. Although I had those desires, I wanted to support and help others with their podcast needs.
Towards the beginning of 2020, I went on a spiritual fast. During that time, I hired the best Business Coach in Atlanta, GA. As the first week of coaching came up, my business coach gave me homework about the name. Little did she know, I was praying and fasting. The next day while working my 9-5 job, Jesus dropped my spirit Matthew 6:33. I heard that prior, but I was not sure. I end up reading the verses on my break, and all I can hear the Holy Spirit say is to keep the kingdom first. That is how Kingdom First Media was born. Do not worry; learning to become like Christ and less like the world is a daily process. I will never get it right, but I will continue to pray for help from Christ Jesus. Now I’m here helping with your podcast needs. Currently now, business is open to the public differing podcast audio teach and other podcast needs. Furthermore, another 360 Photobooth Service started as well creating entertainment.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Due to the business that started during Covid-19, the business has not been a smooth ride as I thought. First, marketing is a struggle for me. I never understood the marketing funnel and language outside of up-sales. So yes, my fellow Marketer out there. Hit me up! ha. For business purposes, I still post on social media, the Knot, and Weddingwire.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We love everything about helping Podcast Host and Aspiring hosts to create shows that are informational or entertainment. We specialize in booking guests for host shows, audio editing, and producing your show from start to finish; however, we need more clients. So, sign up. What do you think about luck?
When it comes to luck, I do not believe it. I think we’re blessed with a gift or talent that God places inside of us. To me, luck is not the same as the hard work, time, consistency, and encouragement you need to pursue your assignment here on earth. I hope that wasn’t deep ha. Now being in a business where people are spending their money, being late will lose clients.
