Today we’d like to introduce you to Haydee Rodriguez.
Hi Haydee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hello, my name is Haydee Rodriguez Owner and Operator of HR Creations. HR Creations started as a hobby creating personalized items such as candy wrappers, cake toppers, birthday banners of themes that were not able to be found in stores.
We started in our home town Puerto Rico and after a while, I started to gain interest in cakes and began to watch YouTube videos of cake techniques. I then took a baking class from a local bakery and learned basic baking. After a lot of trial and error baking for family and friends, I started selling my cakes.
As a family, we then decided to move to FL where we needed to start again from scratch to gain potential clients and grow our business. We currently work full-time jobs and work on custom orders during the weekends.
Thanks to God, word of mouth, and friend referrals we are now a small cottage home food bakery located in Orlando, FL., and specialize in delicious homemade cakes made completely from scratch. We do moist Puerto Rican-style cakes but we also have a variety of flavors such as chocolate, red velvet, and carrot cake.
We love to create cakes, cupcakes, and sugar cookies for all occasions. It brings us so much joy to be able to create our customer’s vision to life and make amazing memories. We work very hard to always bring the very best to the table so you and your loved ones can always enjoy all of your gatherings. We continue to learn every day and look forward to one day opening our own little storefront!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road, moving from one state to the other where you have to learn about different cultures, get to know places, and meet new people is always a challenge. There were a lot of adjustments that we had to do in order to get to where we are now.
I believe that having a business is always a challenge and difficult times may arise but it all matters on the attitude that you have to overcome it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently work a full-time job in the mental health industry and enjoy baking custom cake orders on the weekends. I am known to be the baker at work and love to do my co-worker’s birthday cakes.
What do you think about happiness?
I absolutely love to see smiles on people’s faces and knowing that they are pleased and happy with the finished results of their cakes fills my heart with joy. I love that I get to know different people and get to interact with each one of them and learn their back story.
