Conversations with Iana Pharoah-Malone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Iana Pharoah-Malone.

Hi Iana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Iana Pharoah-Malone also known as Fyne Chynna and I’m a Nail Technician located in the Greater Orlando Florida Areas. During my teenage years, I’ve always had a passion for everything beauty! I wore makeup before makeup was even the “In thing”. In 2014, I decided to take that passion and turn it into something I thought I never would. I started going Live on Facebook every Thursday night where I would have hundreds and one point thousands of viewers while I was doing tutorials for different makeup looks, and that’s where it all started.

I decided to create a business called “Brush Touched By Fyne Chynna”. I accumulated clientele and would be booked out for occasions and events. Then in 2020, the pandemic hit and caused a damper in the makeup industry. No one was going out or in need of makeup services, so the hustler’s mentality in me started to brainstorm. I was scrolling one day on social media and I say numerous statues about ” I can’t wait to get my nails done”, “omg my nails and feet look horrible”, and that’s when my light bulb went off, Nail technician! I then started watching YouTube beginner nail videos and ordered everything I needed from Amazon.

I genuinely fell in love and had an obsession with my new craft! Night and day, I watched videos, I practiced so much until my family complained about the stench of monomer and moved me into the garage. Once I felt that I mastered dummy hand, I changed my business name to “Fyne Beauty LLC” Which is an umbrella for all things beauty. I then called my nail business “Fyne Nailz” I then started to offer $20 full sets out of my garage and believe it or not, I had a lot of supporters.

Imagine working out of a garage on a hot summer day in Florida, HOT! So I then moved my craft to my back-covered patio so my clients could feel more comfortable, But imagine being on a back porch in December or January, cold! That’s when I made my next big step! I took a break and decided to go to school and get my Nail tech license. After a few months of classes, I completed the course and was officially a licensed nail technician!

My clientele grew so quickly I was in disbelief. I was booked during the week and let’s not even mention Saturdays! At this point, there was too much traffic coming in and out of the house, I had to do something! That’s when I when decided to move into a salon suite. The best business decision I ever made! In less than two years, I did something major I thought I never would do!

I created this safe haven for my clients to come and get Full sets, Manicures, Pedicures and also talk about whatever they desire in secrecy. I created that environment for THEM!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not a smooth road all the way. At times, I had a doubt that this craft wasn’t for me. The look that I was trying to achieve, I just wasn’t getting it in the beginning.

But with the full support and push of my husband, family members, friends, and social media following, I couldn’t give up. I shook that doubt off and remain consistent until I got to where I wanted to be.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am Nail Technician who specializes in acrylic full sets for both nails and toes, gel nails, manicures for both men and women, and pedicures. also specialize in makeup artistry, full and soft glam, and also Bridal makeup.

I would say what sets me apart from others is my vibe! My vibe is chill, understanding, motivational, and nonjudgmental. I also have a YouTube channel where I do this thing called “Nail Table Talk”. I vibe with my clients and ask them real live scenario questions and see how they respond.

They love that! I make it fun and intriguing for them and the viewers, you should check it out, my YouTube name is “Fyne Beauty” and don’t forget to like and subscribe!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I wouldn’t call it “Luck” I would more say “A blessing”. This whole thing, my business, and change in life has been a complete blessing and I will be forever grateful for what God has done in my life, especially from where I came from.

I wasn’t always this person, hence the name “Fyne Beauty”. There’s some real meaning behind that name! I was very bad in my younger years (Hahaha). But I got the name “Fyne Chynna” because one day, I was sitting and I was reflecting on when I was younger and my mother would designate one Saturday out of the month to clean out the china cabinet.

They would all be dusty and didn’t have that shine and beauty that they needed to have, but once we washed them and shine them they looked completely different. Well polished, sparkled, and beautiful! A complete difference! so that’s where I came up with my name. The old me back in my younger years was washed and shined into the new me, FYNE CHYNNA!
