Today we’d like to introduce you to Iris V Montalvo.
Iris V, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My inclination towards art began at an early age when I created in my school notebook the outfits and dresses that I would have liked to wear. Through the time, I got married with Elliot “zombielliotpr” Alicea, a tattoo artist, who introduced me to a world full of so much Artistic diversity, which pushed me to awaken the flame of learning. Learning art in: pencil, paper, wood, aluminum, glass, tattoo, chalk, charcoal and acrylic.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The challenge for me is that I never had the opportunity to go to a university to study art comes outborn.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I currently work with: paper, canvas, pencil, carbon and acrylic. I create realism on pencil and charcoal paper and additional acrylic canvas. I am currently working on a mixto of abstract acrylic portraits on canvas. What makes me proud is the ability and interest that I create in creating each new piece.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
