Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Diamond.
Hi Jasmine, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It started pretty organically. I was always the one with a camera at family events or when hanging out with friends—not because I planned to turn it into a business, but because I genuinely loved capturing moments. One day my husband surprised me with a professional camera and told me to follow my passion and see where it takes me. I took a giant leap of faith and went for it. I never imagined I would get to do what I absolutely love and call it work, but here I am.
My first paid shoot was honestly a little nerve-wracking, but once I did it, I was hooked. I realized how much I loved not just taking pictures, but helping people feel seen. From there, I slowly built up my gear, learned everything I could, and took on more clients while still working my day job. Eventually, it grew enough to go full-time, and that’s how Jasmine Diamond Photography was born—out of passion, practice, and a lot of trust from early supporters.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not always smooth—but I think that’s part of what makes it worth it. In the beginning, I had no roadmap. I was figuring out pricing, contracts, editing workflows—everything—on my own. There were moments where I questioned if I could really make it work, especially when bookings were slow or I was juggling too much at once.
One of the biggest struggles was learning to balance the creative side with the business side. I love taking photos, but running a photography business means wearing a lot of hats—marketing, admin, client communication. It took time to build systems and confidence in those areas.
But every challenge taught me something, and each season—good or hard—helped shape how I run things today. I’ve learned to trust the process, stay consistent, and always keep growing.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a portrait and lifestyle photographer, and I specialize in capturing real, emotional moments—whether it’s couples, families, or individuals just wanting to document a chapter of their life. My style leans natural and warm, with a focus on connection over perfection. People often tell me they felt at ease during their session, and to me, that’s the best compliment. When someone can just be themselves in front of my camera, that’s when the magic happens.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients give me. I’ve photographed people during some of the biggest moments of their lives—engagements, pregnancies, new babies—but also in quiet, everyday seasons that deserve to be remembered too.
What sets me apart? I think it’s that I don’t just show up to take photos—I show up to see people. I spend time getting to know them, understanding their vibe, and creating space where they don’t feel like they have to pose or perform. The result is images that feel honest, not forced.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I’d say consistency. Not just in my work, but in how I show up for people. Whether it’s replying to messages, delivering galleries on time, or creating a relaxed session experience—I try to be steady and reliable across the board.
Photography is personal, and people are trusting me with moments that matter. Being someone they can count on, who follows through and treats their story with care, has made a big difference in building long-term trust and referrals.
Of course, creativity matters too—but without consistency, it doesn’t go far.
