Conversations with Julia Cipriano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Cipriano

Hi Julia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I traveled here and there within the U.S. and Canada throughout my childhood, but the story of Runways and Byways started when I was 16 years old. For my birthday, my parents gave me a choice: a big party or a European cruise. I had always wanted to travel to that part of the world, so it was a no-brainer! That trip ignited a passion for exploration that has kept me constantly on the move ever since. I started the Runways and Byways travel blog to encourage others to explore the world, as I hope it will change their lives as it had mine.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not a smooth road, and, although I have had some success, I continue to face hurdles. The industry is saturated, so it is important to focus on standing out, which is easier said than done. I am blessed to live in Orlando and have the opportunity to frequently share hidden gems from one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world; this has helped me immensely.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I create travel-related content. I am proud of my dedication to the growth of my business, as I went through a lot of periods when I felt I was working for nothing. I think my mission sets me apart from other travel creators – I share tips, itineraries, and guides tailored to the average person because I believe travel should be attainable for everyone.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was very creative growing up. I loved to draw, write, and make videos. This has all translated into my business today.
