Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Dorton Cramer.
Lisa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a proud UCF graduate (Go Knights!) with a degree in Health Services Administration and over 16 years of experience in healthcare business operations. Like many professionals, I reached a point during COVID when burnout hit hard, and I found myself craving something new, something creative and fulfilling.
I had always dreamed of owning my own business, but the idea felt too intimidating to take seriously. That changed one night at a friend’s wedding held at a local venue with a mobile bar setup. As I looked around, it clicked, there was a real opportunity in the market for specialty event bartending. That moment became the spark for what would soon become Cheeky Street Mobile Bar.
Over the next several months, I dove headfirst into research, learning everything I could about the industry, the market, and what it would take to bring this far-fetched idea to life. With guidance from my husband, who owns his own business, I finally took a leap of faith. I resigned from my position of nine years, armed with determination, a business plan, and one converted horse trailer that served as my first mobile bar.
What started as a one-woman operation offering bar service packages has since grown into a full-scale business with a team of four certified bartenders. We’ve built our reputation on professionalism, communication, and reliability, earning a five-star rating across all platforms. Today, Cheeky Street Mobile Bar continues to serve weddings and events throughout Central Florida, whether from venue bars or our beloved mobile bar on wheels.
We’ve been incredibly fortunate to work alongside amazing vendors and clients who have supported our journey every step of the way. They are the reason we do what we do, and without them, there would be no Cheeky Street Mobile Bar.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been learning to navigate the unknown, especially stepping into an entirely new industry. Every stage of growth has come with its own learning curve, from licensing and logistics to staffing and scaling responsibly.
Another ongoing challenge is maintaining fair and competitive pricing in an economy that continues to fluctuate. I strive to balance affordability for clients with sustainability for my business and team. It’s a constant juggling act but staying transparent and client-focused has helped us adapt and continue growing even through uncertain times.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We specialize in curating signature cocktails that bring each event to life. Every menu is thoughtfully designed to reflect our clients’ personalities, themes, and tastes, because no two celebrations are ever the same.
Looking back to 2020, I’m incredibly proud. Not only did I survive the challenges of launching a new business during such an uncertain time, but I was able to grow it and build something that’s still thriving today.
What truly sets us apart, though, is our commitment to accessibility. We believe everyone deserves a top tier bar experience, regardless of budget. Whether that means offering flexible payment options or customizing our services to fit within specific price points, we work closely with each client to make their vision a reality.
What matters most to you?
At the end of the day, our greatest source of pride comes from what our clients have to say about us. Their testimonials, positive feedback, and ongoing support are the true measure of our success, and the reason we continue to raise the bar, one event at a time.
