Today we’d like to introduce you to Loscatz
Hi LOSCATZ, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a passion for performance and storytelling, shaped by growing up in the Bronx surrounded by music and entertainment. My Uncle Tony’s block parties filled the streets with sound, while my father, with his interest in video production, exposed me to content creation. My mother, a dancer who specialized in African dance and modeled on the side, had a diverse musical taste, playing everything from funk and quiet storm to alternative, dance rock, and today’s radio hits. Shows like All That on Nickelodeon, BET, MTV, Living Single, The Jamie Foxx Show, Comedy Central, and Adult Swim were a constant part of my world.
I was always singing, writing, and dancing but struggled to pick a single path because I wanted to do it all. My talents were often seen as hobbies, and I put my dreams on hold to meet others’ expectations. By 2016, I realized I needed to take my passions seriously. I performed at karaoke, led dance workout classes, and found a mentor who encouraged me to grow. I eventually integrated comedy, music, and dance into unique content.
And here I am now, embracing all aspects of my artistry and constantly finding new ways to evolve.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Heck no, it was chaotic! LOL.
While I’ve always had a passion for performance, I struggled to find my path because I was torn between my dreams and others’ expectations. My talents were often seen as hobbies, which led me to focus on practical things like paying bills instead of pursuing my true passions. The older I got, the more I lost hope because I saw others giving up on their love of creativity, and their projections onto me made me feel like I didn’t deserve to move forward with what I truly wanted to do. Self-doubt, like imposter syndrome, and fear also held me back, and I didn’t realize I was dimming my own light.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a singer, songwriter, dancer, entertainer, actor, editor, and content creator. I blend music, dance, and storytelling to create content that resonates with my audience, offering both entertainment and emotional connection.
What I’m most proud of is how my music and content evoke nostalgia and uplift viewers during tough times. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know my work can bring joy and comfort to others.
What sets me apart is my ability to fuse multiple creative disciplines, keeping my content fresh and engaging while connecting with my audience on a deeper level.
I’m also proud to release my latest track, IN AND OUT. It dives into the ups and downs of love and the need for something real. My sound features warm, soft vocals reminiscent of Mya and Tamia, Brandy-inspired harmonies, and modern R&B 808s. This song is definitely a vibe! It’s available on all major platforms (Apple, Spotify, YouTube, Tidal, SoundCloud, Pandora, etc.).
