Conversations with Lourdelie Rosemond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lourdelie Rosemond

Hi Lourdelie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I developed an interest in holistic health at an early age. Growing up in a Haitian family in the Caribbean, I was raised in a culture that emphasizes holistic care, especially when it comes to health and well-being. After high school, I wasn’t sure what career path to take, so I did some research to find something that aligned with my passions. When I discovered massage therapy, it felt like a calling, and I soon enrolled at Ridge Technical College.

Massage therapy school was challenging, filled with long nights of studying and moments of doubt. The intensity only grew after graduation when I had to prepare for the MBLEx, the state board exam that would determine if I could earn my license. Waiting for the results was nerve-wracking, but I’ll never forget the joy I felt when I saw that I had passed.

With my license in hand, I began working in a spa environment, where I developed an interest in esthetics. There were several dual-licensed massage therapists and estheticians at our spa, and I thought, “Why not go back to school and learn esthetics too?” Balancing work and school was tough, but I driven by my passion and faith to make it work.

Becoming a dual-licensed therapist allowed me to offer both massage and facial services, and I truly love it. I enjoy working with people, helping them achieve their healing goals, and supporting their well-being. I’ve always planned to work independently, but I’m grateful for the experience I’ve gained working with others—it’s prepared me well for when I start my own business.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest obstacle was the lack of support. I didn’t have much encouragement when starting out. I was surrounded by people who instilled fears and doubts in my mind. To overcome this mindset, I had to hold on to my faith in God and trust in the process.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a massage therapist and esthetician specializing in trigger point work, myofascial release, and customized facials, I love being able to contribute to people’s well-being. Hearing clients tell me after their session how much they needed it and how it made a difference in their day brings me so much joy. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment so that when clients step inside Lour Massage & Esthetics, they feel at ease and removed from whatever is happening in the outside world.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I’ve learned to keep my faith in God and trust the process. Not everyone will see the vision, and that’s okay, God will always be there to guide you.
