Hi Marcella, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Originally from Brazil and graduated in Design, I found mylself in love with window coverings. Together with my husband Andre, we decided to open our own business together. That’s when we found Gotcha Covered, a nationwide franchise focused only in window coverings. We do it all! Blinds, Shutters, Draperies, different kinds of Shades and everything custom made for a perfect fit. With more than 7 years in the business, we want to bring the best quality for all of our customers, on both products and services. I strongly believe our main advantage is that we talk and understand what are our customers needs to give a recommendation instead of “one product fits all” model.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a latin entrepreneur woman I’ve always encounter challenges on the way, but I take the best of every situation, the worst that can happen is to get a life lesson out of a bad experience. But either way, our job is not only to bring design for the homes, but also security, privacy, sun protection and peace of mind! Some people don’t understand the benefits of window coverings, so we offer the consultation exactly to explain all of that. It can be challenging when married customers are not in the same page, we need to navigate in a way that both can be pleased with the final decision, and I’m happy to say that we always find a solution!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m the owner of Gotcha Covered South Orlando and Viera. We are specialized in custom window coverings (blinds, shutters, shades and draperies) and automation! We offer an in-home consultation to measure the windows, understand your needs and give you suggestions, the best thing is : we will bring the showroom to your house! You can see all the materials and colors on your house with your furniture and natural light. We work with different manufacturers which makes it easy to find a solution for your window on your budget. It’s important to say that custom window coverings are not just for looks. With the heat control products you can lower your energy bills. With privacy products and automation you can have security and presence simulation even when you are not home. With blackout products you can have a better night of sleep and improve your health. And with cordless products you can keep your kids and pets safe (according to the renowned magazine

Our unique customer service is what set us apart. We listen to our customers!! We are not pushy and we set expectations. We are always honest and upfront about all the possible solutions, educating our customers to understand about the products, the good and the bad, so they can be safe and sound on their decision.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
On the dictionary the word success is defined as “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose”.
I always believed that God gave me as a purpose helping others the way that I can. And I know our company can improve our customers lifes while still giving us freedom to participate actively in our community.
