Conversations with Marco Perez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marco Perez.

Marco Perez

Hi Marco, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
The Pio Pio Latin cuisine restaurant has been in the industry for more than 15 years, led by its owner, Javier Vargas, who is my business partner today. I came from New Jersey 8 years ago, and my first job in Florida was at Pio Pio as a bartender. I worked for Javier for 4 years, and then I had the opportunity to work in different bars and restaurants in Orlando, including Disney bars, where I could learn and train enough to take a more significant step in my career. After several years of work, life allowed me and my wife to work again with Javier and Pio Pio, but this time as business owners since August 2023.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
To be successful, you always have to go through difficult moments; that is where you measure yourself if you can carry out any project you propose.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a restaurant owner, I have no secret or anything like that. We always try to give the best service and experience to our clients so that every time they come to visit us, they feel at home, welcome, and happy. That is the difference we have from other places, the human warmth and love we put into it.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to us is that our clients and employees enter and leave our doors with a smile and an excellent memory of their visit. What keeps us afloat is the people who come and allow us to provide them with a beautiful experience.
