Hi MeiLani, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got my Real Estate License in March of 2022. I had wanted my license for a couple of years, but I always hesitated to take the necessary steps. I decided though that this year would be the year. I signed up for the advanced course and studied as hard as I could for 10 days, after this period, I took my state exam and passed on my first try. I then met Amy Ladd Miller with All Real Estate & Investments. Upon doing so, I realized that her team was a perfect fit for me. Since making my decision to join her team, I have learned so many things about this industry, as well as so many things about myself. Real Estate has always been my passion, and I’m so happy that I now get to do what I love every day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were definitely challenges along the way. It takes a lot of mental commitment to drop everything and only focus on a 620-page book for 7-10 days. It is also a semi-expensive course which means you need to be prepared to financially invest in yourself when taking this next step. Upon completing your pre-licensing course, you must then pass the State Exam. Everyone is different when it comes to test-taking. If you experience testing anxiety, I highly suggest finding ways to help yourself prepare for testing. Once you pass and choose a brokerage, you have to go all in if you expect to see results and money, of course. Give it your all and show up even on the hard days.
