Mexican Native, Florida, USA Resident, YOKI is known for her unique distinctive vocalizations, sound effects, and technique, making her live stage presence full of high energy and performance. Blending Bass Electro House, Jungle Terror, Moombahton, and her signature native Latin roots, YOKI creates unique sets for the occasion, including her own production tracks in the mix.

Her mission and commitment has placed her in numerous venues across Florida and other USA states. YOKI is also the curator of #LiveInTheWire mix series dedicated to the sounds of the underground from all over Florida and owns her own Entertainment Services Company called #PartyAnimalsFamily

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To say it’s been smooth would be a reach but it’s definitely been a fun ride. Things can get bumpy as a female producer and DJ in a male-dominant industry. Hosting events and organizing functions is challenging but also rewarding. It’s all about the ebb and flow of life and accepting the good with the bad. I love my passion of music so immensely but it’s sometimes hard finding a balance in regards to what I need to prioritize. Time is sometimes not in my favor but also there’s not enough time in the day to do everything I have the drive to accomplish. Setting goals and learning how to manage my time has been the best trick in my pocket.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a producer as well as a DJ. From festivals to weddings to clubs; I am known for making any crowd lively. I am versatile in a wide variety of genres but my personal favorite is Bass House and House EDM music. My production also reflects my admiration for Bass House but I am just as versatile in my genre selection for my production as I am on my mix board.

Another thing that makes me stand out are my Mexican roots and how I incorporate my heritage into any genre of music I perform. Any beat, any style; I love to make people move their feet and feel the Latin fire underneath their feet!

I’m most proud of being able to travel out of state, see new things, meet new people and always make any place feel like home. Music has opened up so many doors and so many possibilities in my life; I’m so proud of where I’ve been and where I’m going. It’s beautiful how much we can all connect through music.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is being able to be here and being able to enjoy every moment I can with my friends and loved ones. A lot of the time, those simple things are taken for granted and I can never forget where I’ve been, how far I’ve come, and where I come from. I couldn’t have made it without my family and friend’s support.
