Conversations with Michelle Erin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Erin.

Hi Michelle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My Orlando story started in summer of 2022. I moved for 3 months to start my Cultural Exchange Program at the age of 18. I loved my life and experience in Orlando so much that I decided to move back the following year for one year for a Cultural Representative Program. Working for Disney World, I was able to create connections, make friends, and find an online community where I can share my theme park lifestyle. Since leaving my program, I have become an annual pass holder to both Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando, and visit Orlando every 4-6 weeks.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been easy to say the least. Making the decision to move to a different country temporarily alone was hard, but allowed me to discover who I truly am. I was greeted with an incredible support system, my boyfriend Brandon included. Though I thrive in Orlando with it’s fun and exciting lifestyle, I have not spent much time at home in Montreal… In the past year and a half, I have not spent more than 5 days at home at a time. Leaving home is hard, leaving family is even harder.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a content creator on Instagram and Tik Tok! I always aimed to create content that was authentic and relevant to me. I’ve posted about Disney, Star Wars, Hockey (NHL), Marvel, Harry Potter and music, just to name a few. When I moved to Orlando, my page took off and I was given opportunities like a hosted event at Howl-O-Scream at Sea World! Orlando allowed me to launch myself into my own skin, as well as the world of content creation. Being able to remain genuine is one of my greatest prides. I try my best to not put on a face in front of the camera, and just be me, good or bad.

What matters most to you?
Having a support system matters to me most. Friends and family that support me in my Orlando and content creation journey is what matters most. I’ve been graced with an incredible boyfriend, Brandon, who encourages me, helps me, and motivates me to be a better version of myself everyday. He’s also the one on the other side of the camera in many, if not all, of my parks content. My family has also been a support system I can lean on, as well as my friends. Having these people in my life is irreplaceable, and mean more to me than the numbers of likes and follows.
