Conversations with Rainey Wilson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rainey Wilson.

Hi Rainey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Honestly, I know this is about me but my family is the biggest contributor to my success. They shaped me into who I am today. It all started with a little home built gym my dad put together while pursuing his career as a personal trainer. Then there is my mom, who is such an entrepreneur that she made me feel as if I could do anything my heart was on fire for. Lastly my sister, she has always guided me to be the most authentic I could be. Because of them, I’ve never given up and don’t plan on it.

I have been in the restaurant industry for 10 years, 7 of them being a restaurant manager. Being that I’m 29, this all started in my early twenties, so I’ve had the opportunity to grow quick with the help of my own personal mentor. This industry has taught me how to build a hard work ethic, deal with multiple situations simultaneously, and be the best mentor I can for my teams of all ages. Within the years I gained 3 specific passions. One of them was fitness and health, and watching my dad change lives with his personal training it motivated me to do the same and become a PT. The second was being a mentor, so I’ve decided to pursue becoming a life coach for individuals that feel that they need guidance in finding their purpose. Lastly, I’ve always been interested in financial literacy and setting myself up for success in the future. Which lead me to pursue getting my license as an insurance agent to help others save for the future.

I do have two other businesses as well at the moment. I work for this wonderful wellness company called Arbonne where I am an independent consultant and I help others start their wellness journey with clean ingredient products. The other is my own business that I plan on one day making an athletic wear company. That will come in the future! Hopefully in the next year.

I am a busy girl, but I tell you what, I love everything I do.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not one bit of this has been easy. I have been tired to the bone, broke and hungry, suffered from daily self doubt and self sabotaging habits. I worked hours on hours, weeks and even a month straight, gave up nights of fun with friends and time with my family for years on years. There were so many times I gave up almost completely on everything I worked so hard for, but the little voice in my head wouldn’t let me.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a restaurant manager, a personal trainer, an insurance agent, an independent consultant for a wellness company, soon an insurance agent and I have my own athletic wear company that will be up and running in the next year.

Really, I am just proud of how much I’ve achieved all together. I absolutely love everything I do and want to continue to grow.

What’s sets me apart is that I can have so much going on in my own personal life, but I can put aside everything when someone is in need. I have a big big heart and deep compassion for helping others in any way I am capable of. I am a very good listener and optimist. I’ve learned to take feedback and turn it into a lesson I can teach others once I’ve mastered my own opportunities to improve on. I’m not perfect by any means, trust me. But I enjoy showing people that they’re self worth is not based upon external validation but internal satisfaction.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’d say good luck has played a huge roll in my life and business. I have been always surrounded by love and support from my friends and family. I have had opportunities fall in my lap that have catapulted my time lines multiple times and I’ve had my setbacks just like anyone. But somehow I have always bounced back quicker than I fell. I’ve always said that I am blessed beyond measure, that I must have an angel looking out for me. As much as life got me down, I always tried to stay grateful for something no matter what point I was at. That really helped me.
