Today we’d like to introduce you to Randall Collins.
Hi Randall, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are a dance group that goes by the name FLe8 (Pronounced “Affiliate”) located in Orlando, FL. Fle8 was founded by Randall Collins on March 16th, 2017 to compete in World of Dance Orlando. Since then, the team has grown in their craft and through many obstacles, has become one of Orlando’s top dance crews. We perform yearly at Thesis Dance Event in Tampa, FL and various other shows around Florida. We are a team affiliated with several different teams around Florida and consist of members who have various different backgrounds.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Any dance group will never have just a smooth road. Around the beginning of the Pandemic, we ended up taking break until the end of 2021. Not only because of Covid-19 but also because of different conflicts about where to take the direction of the team. At the end of 2021, we came back together with a new team and have been building ever since. People come and people go, but this has been the strongest the team has been in a long time. The struggle is a part of the story of the greatness.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We specialize in several different street dance styles. People who don’t dance will categorize it under the umbrella term “Hip Hop” but there are so many more styles. We dance House, Waacking, Lite Feet, Hip Hop, etc. We are most proud of our growth in these styles and look forward to pushing those boundaries to be the best we can possibly be.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Credit? There would be no FLe8 without RUKUS Entertainment; the group that most of our members have come from. We started around the time Randall Collins left RUKUS Entertainment and have continued to grow. Different groups have also had their own influence whether it is competitive spirit, artistic visions, support, etc. Some of htese groups include theSQUAD, NoMadz, Motiv, V3, Notorious, KDDC etc.
