Today we’d like to introduce you to Richard Grey III.
Hi Richard, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well it all started once I got out of prison is 2017 after a 3 year mandatory sentence. I had a plan to start a record label. 90Baby Cartel, Inc. was formed in 2018 after doing some research and working with Legal Zoom I decided on an S-Corp. The benefits suited my plans for the company. I went to 3 different people originally to be apart of the company and only 2 of them accepted my offer. Kelvin Brown and Anthony Wilson Jr were apart of the original board of directors. We had nothing but a name and we started off drop shipping and then earned enough to purchase our inventory of merchandise. From there Mook (Anthony Wilson Jr) had access to a camera and we started to learn photography and then we purchased another camera and soon after we got away from the record label idea and became a tech media company specializing in videography and photography. The rest is history. There are a lot more details to it and we had some board changes. That’s the jest of it though and in 22 we purchased DBA Prime22.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think more than anything life battles have been the worst and we have been able to endure a ton of life blows each as individuals and still come together to make sure the company is running as it should.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Currently as a company we are providing photography and videography services. Specializing in both photography and videography for a wide variety of events and companies. We can do anything from commercials to weddings and really enjoy making our clients happy. Most people know what they want but have no idea how to bring their ideas to life and that is where we come in and mold their vision into something spectacular that they will have forever. What we are most proud of is our growth as a company and our ability to provide a high quality service at a great price. What sets us apart as well as all artists apart is our vision and the fact that no artist does anything the same. We all do things differently and see things differently. We are all creatives so there is no room for competition only creativity. We all see the canvas differently and that’s what’s so special about Art. Each piece is a 1 of 1.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Just keep going do not throw away your dream because of others. No one is going to believe in you or your idea more than you and no one is going to match your work ethic. You have to wake up motivated and go to sleep that way. It may not look like you want it to for a few years but keep going and don’t ever give up.
