Conversations with Richie Matthew Logsdon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Richie Matthew Logsdon

Hi Richie Matthew, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Orlando, where I began my entertainment career. I started doing professional theater, TV and film, including work at the former Nickelodeon Studios in Universal. Simultaneously, I cultivated a passion for real estate and interior design, often persuading my parents to take me to every show home and the parade of homes every year. Pursuing my entertainment dreams led me to Los Angeles, where I spent nearly a decade honing my craft. My career highlights included roles in soap operas, commercials, and a leading role in a feature film. I even worked as a singing waiter at a renowned Italian restaurant, where I saw about every celebrity you could imagine! Eventually, I decided to return to my roots in Orlando and transition into real estate. After gaining experience with various brokerages and in property management, I’ve now joined forces with a friend at Florida Top Realty. This career shift has allowed me to blend my passion for performing with real estate, as I now create engaging videos and content for social media. It would be my dream to host a real estate show someday focusing on homes and interior design. I’m still performing professionally, doing gigs and singing every Saturday night at Debonair Supper Club in downtown Orlando.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wish I could say it’s been a smooth road for me! For every entertainment job I’ve gotten, there were a hundred I didn’t. Constant rejection can take a toll on your self-esteem, you really have to love it. There are definitely parallels in entertainment and real estate, there are many paths to success, you must be self motivated and learn to never take no for an answer. And most important you must believe in yourself and never give up.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a realtor, I specialize in residential real estate. Having an eye for design, I’m able to identify what works and what doesn’t work in a room. You can make changes to a room on any budget to add value when it’s time to sell. Most buyers when they walk into a house really have trouble looking past what’s right in front of them, whether that be a certain paint color or taste specific furniture. What sets me apart from other realtors is I’m a natural performer. Showing houses, hosting open houses, putting out content on social media all takes a certain amount of showmanship. This unique combination of entertainment background and real estate expertise has positioned me to offer a distinctive perspective in the Orlando real estate market. As the city continues to grow and attract new residents, I’m excited to help clients find their perfect home while sharing my enthusiasm for both property and performance!

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Personally I learned that I am very much a people person, and to truly be happy I need that daily face to face connection. That’s why when I worked from home doing property management 8-10 hours a day by myself, I really wasn’t happy. I also learned not to take the simple pleasures in life for granted, meeting a friend for lunch, going to the movies with my parents, going shopping by myself. It all doesn’t sound like much, but when it was gone those were some of the things I missed the most.
