Conversations with Shavone Mack

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shavone Mack.

Hi Shavone, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hello everyone! My name is Shavone Mack and when you first see me, you’ll notice that I’m Beautifully Tall, which is also the name of my brand! I’m 6’4” tall, and I make it my business to pour love and positive energy into other tall women and little girls, ensuring that they love their height and spread love to other Beautiful TALLies!

I’m a country girl from Cross, SC. I played sports throughout high school and college, modeled for a little while, established a career as a Learning Consultant for a banking institution, and I’m also a social media influencer. I naturally motivate people, and many of my friends say I’ve never met a stranger. This energy that I exude has allowed me to excel in my career and my influencing life.

I’m an open book, and I’m always telling my story of being bullied for being tall, dark skin, and skinny, getting into modeling, my struggles with fashion, etc., to help the next person become a better version of themselves. This is what lead me to create my brand. I’m just showcasing my tall lifestyle to the world and meeting some amazing people along the way!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road, but it’s allowed me to appreciate where I am.

My brand came from God. I was in the process of getting my MBA, and during an assignment is when the name of my brand came to me. I felt this push to really make it official, but I had no idea what I was doing, and I still have moments of figuring it out. Creating a website, creating blogs, trying to create content, pitching to companies for partnerships, etc., causes MANY nights of tears and frustration of NOT knowing. It also took money for this new adventure I was embarking on, and I wasn’t as prepared for that. I eventually joined some great Mentorship programs to teach me, which led to so many new connections and new friendships.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Learning Consultant with a banking institution where I facilitate multiple trainings for the company. From orientations to leadership and development workshops. I LOVE what I do because I get to teach, motivate and inspire people all at the same time. You never know who you’ll meet and what they may need from you on a personal level. I’m the tall trainer that’s going to make training fun yet hold you accountable for your actions and push you to be better!

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Be honest, open, and simply reach out to a person you feel connected with! We sometimes make things harder than it needs to be. Acknowledge that you are taking the step to invest in yourself. That’s how I joined my first mentorship program. I wanted more for my life, and I needed help.
