Conversations with Shunte Arnold

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shunte Arnold

Hi Shunte, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We started our business because of our children who have eczema. I started making a Triple butter cream for our daughter who has eczema because regular creams were not working. I wanted something natural to help sooth her skin. I am a gardener and I use Neem Oil in my garden and researched how it also helps sooth inflamed skin. I studied formulations and came up with a cream made with Mango, Shea, Cocoa Butters along with Hemp and Neem Oils that helped her skin. I also started making natural soaps as well. At the time I was working as a teacher in Osceola County and started giving the creams to my coworkers who stated that I should sale the creams. I did my first market in Maitland in March of 2021 and this is how we got started.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. Starting out as a small business is intensely difficult, mainly because no one knows you exist. You can have the best product in the world, but if people don’t know about it or you the business will ultimately fail. We have had to do all the heavy lifting of trying to get our name out there. Working markets has been hard, especially in the hot summer months. Luckily I have support. My husband helps run our business and is the front man at markets. He is the ultimate salesman and loves to promote the product to people. Another difficult part was learning about how to run a business. I came from an era where we were taught to get a job and not necessarily about how to be an entrepreneur. I have had to learn by bumping into walls and at times I am still unsure of how to go about business decisions. It has been rewarding seeing how many happy customers come back and say “your cream helped me”.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a full time business owner that sells all natural bath, body, and home products that are excellent for dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, and or sensitive skin. Every product is handmade by me and is sold directly to the consumer. We are known for our Triple Butter Cream which is made with three exquisite butters; Mango, Shea, and Cocoa. Along with Hemp and Neem Oils which are anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal. I am most proud of how many people we have helped that come back again, and again. On our website over 80% of our customers are repeat buyers and I think that says a lot about our commitment to quality and customer service. What sets us apart is our enthusiasm, drive, and motivation. I was looking for a answer to solve an issue for our daughter and that problem created an open door to create our products. We are driven to be the next large scale cosmetic name in the industry. We are motivated by our need to succeed. My husband and I are all in. We do this full time. The business is my baby. Lastly, we are Christian based. I feel that we can help spread love with our products one cream at a time.

What does success mean to you?
Success to me is being able to get up every morning and look at myself in the mirror and feel like I am making a difference in the world. That’s very important to me. I need to know that what I do is helping people in some way. We have gotten enough feedback to know that we are helping people with our products, even if it’s just selling a sugar scrub to a tired mom who needs some TLC.
