Today we’d like to introduce you to Skylar Raye.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always had a creative spirit and a love for storytelling—even before I knew what that could mean professionally. I started out managing my family’s business social media accounts, designing logos for fun, and curating brands without even realizing that’s what I was doing. I went on to study business marketing and management in college, but it wasn’t until I moved to Naples, Florida, that everything really clicked.
Once I got to Naples, I began working with a few real estate agents on content and social media, and I quickly realized how much I loved helping others bring their visions to life online. What started as side projects turned into word-of-mouth referrals, and before I knew it, I was building a company. In 2023, I officially launched what is now CS Marketing & Media—a full-service marketing agency that specializes in brand development, social media, content creation, and photography/videography.
Today, our agency supports businesses of all sizes—from local startups to luxury brands—helping them grow with strategy-driven creative. We’ve grown into a team of passionate experts who care deeply about our clients and their success. Every step of the way has been driven by tenacity, vision, and a genuine love for connecting people and brands through powerful storytelling.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all—it’s been a road full of learning, evolving, and constant refining. While I’m so proud of where we are today, the journey here hasn’t been without challenges. Like most entrepreneurs, I started by wearing every single hat. I was the strategist, the designer, the photographer, the one answering emails at midnight. And I didn’t always have it figured out—but I kept showing up and learning how to do it better.
One of the biggest challenges has been learning to delegate. As my business grew, I had to let go of the idea that I needed to do everything myself. A dear friend once told me, “If someone else can do what you’re doing, you shouldn’t be doing it.” That really stuck with me. It helped me build a team and trust others to carry the mission forward with me.
There were also seasons where I felt like I was working twice as hard for half the reward—but those seasons taught me how to be resilient, how to trust the long game, and how to always go back to my “why.” Every setback truly pushed me to improve our systems, communication, and creativity. I don’t take any of it for granted. The road wasn’t always smooth, but it was always worth it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At CS Marketing & Media, we specialize in helping brands show up intentionally—online and in real life. We’re a full-service marketing and media agency, meaning we don’t just manage your social media or take a few photos—we help you craft your entire brand presence. From strategy, branding, and content calendars to photography, videography, and visual storytelling, we’re the creative partner that helps make sure everything you put out aligns with where you’re going.
We’re known for our hands-on approach and our ability to become a true extension of our clients’ businesses. Whether it’s a wellness brand, a dental practice, or a luxury charter company, we dive deep to understand their mission and help them connect with their audience in a meaningful, human-first way. We’re not chasing trends—we’re building brands with purpose.
I’m most proud of the way we’ve grown so organically. Most of our clients come from referrals and relationships—people see our work, hear about how we care, and want to be a part of that. That means everything to me.
What sets us apart is our balance of strategy and heart. We build with intention, not ego. We’re not here to give you fluff—we’re here to build something that lasts, that grows with you, and that feels like you. We’re storytellers, strategists, and cheerleaders all in one.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was definitely quiet—more of an observer than a speaker. I was always creative, but in a way that didn’t have a clear direction. I loved designing, drawing, taking photos, and telling stories, but for a long time I didn’t realize those were strengths or could even be a career. I just knew I felt most myself when I was making something.
For a while, I struggled with trying to figure out “what I wanted to be,” and nothing ever quite felt like me. So when I decided to start CS, it wasn’t just about building a business—it was about building something that was me. I stopped trying to fit into a box and instead created one that reflected my personality, my creativity, and the kind of work I wanted to do in the world.
CS became the place where all the creative parts of me could finally come together with purpose.
