Conversations with Tina Tyler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Tyler

Hi Tina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Being a mom to my wonderful twins, Amelia and Dawson, is the greatest blessing I’ve known. No job or career comes close to the joy and fulfillment I find in motherhood. While I do love capturing beautiful moments as a photographer, there’s something profoundly special about being their mom.

My incredible wife and I have shared over 17 beautiful years together, and since our wedding in 2015, she’s been my unwavering support. She’s my rock, the loudest cheerleader in my corner, and sometimes my partner on photography shoots. Her love for sweet tea, Chick-fil-a, and most importantly, our beautiful family, brings so much joy into our lives.

Photography has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until the twins arrived in 2019 that I truly understood its power.
The pregnancy seemed to pass in a blink, and those early days with newborns were a whirlwind. As my children grow at what feels like light speed, capturing these fleeting moments has become my treasure. I’m grateful for the decision to document their lives from the start, ensuring I never lose those precious memories of their early years.

Owning a business has been a lifelong dream, and what better way to connect with my community than through photography? To turn my passion into a profession, I sought out education and guidance from the remarkable Britney Bruce of Britney Bruce Photography. She’s not only an amazing educator but also a genuinely kind soul. I’ve learned so much from her courses, covering everything from technical skills to business strategies. Winnie Bruce, another mentor and an award-winning family photographer, has also been instrumental in my growth. I’ve invested in programs like Stormy Solis’s All Heart Access and I am a member of The Motherhood Anthology, an education group for motherhood and family photographers and many others, each shaping me into the photographer I am today. I’m deeply thankful for these incredible women who have shared their wisdom and filled me with inspiration.

Photography is an art that’s always evolving, and I’m driven to keep learning and growing. I am dedicated to crafting a unique piece of art that reflects your story. My heart is fully devoted to capturing those genuine, heartfelt moments that define you and your family’s essence.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur is one of the hardest things I have ever done. Trying to balance running a business, raising my kids, being a good spouse and friend is incredibly challenging!

The photography comes easy it’s the business part that is soo hard. I’ve had to find resources and learn on my own and often I wonder if I’m getting it right.

Finding time to care for me is also very challenging. My mental health has suffered this year as well as some physical health challenges as im getting older.

I’ve found that listening to my body, slowing down and not taking on more than I can manage has been key. It’s been hard to say no to things that don’t aline with my vision but, it’s been essential to my peace and growth.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an Orlando family photographer who specializes in maternity, newborn, and family photography. I use natural light outdoors and natural flash techniques indoors to create warm, rich photos.

Motherhood and family are my world, and this connection is why I chose to become a motherhood and family photographer.
It’s more than just a job—it’s a calling that I live and breathe every single day. With joy and passion, I look forward to sharing my clients beautiful stories through my lens.

Working with my clients over and over is one of the best things about this career! It’s the reason why I created my signature collective.

The Signature Collective includes 2-3 sessions over 12 months. By spreading each session out we can create payment plans if needed. It also allows me to get to know your family through an inital consultation as well as styling appointments and multiple sessions over the year. This sets me apart from other photographers because it allows me to create a beautifully unique and custom experience for your family.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think over the next 5-10 years professional photography is just going to get better. There is so much new technology that gives us such creative freedom and the ability to create new styles of art for our clients. It’s fun to explore the creative aspect of things like Artificial Intelligence. It has the ability to give professional photographers a unique edge to their work we haven’t seen before!
