Today we’d like to introduce you to Accari Alexander.
Hi Accari, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started my photography journey in 2016 on an iPhone 5c believe or not. I found myself falling in love with sunrise photos. So, before any portrait photos I was doing landscape photography. I bought my first camera in July of 2016 a Fuji film camera. It wasn’t until I bought my first Canon camera (Canon t5i) I started doing photo shoots with people. Then when I moved to Sanford from Daytona beach, I started networking with a lot of fitness influencers who have become great friends and motivators. With all the networking I was able to meet all types of great individuals with different visions and ideas. So, as of now, I’ve upgraded my camera gear and equipment. I’ve invested in myself and found a purpose with photography.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It wasn’t easy road at all. With anything in life, there’s going to be setbacks and doubts. I’ve had to deal with self-doubt, bad clients, self-learning, and bad networking. Each situation taught me a lot and since then I’ve gotten tougher skin to deal with it all. I believe in my work wholeheartedly now!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As of now, I’m working on doing a lot of portrait photography. So, I specialize in that of now but things change with being a creative individual and I like to switch it up. Also, I’m getting back into shooting music videos as well.
I’m most proud that my work has been published for the first time this year.
The way I make whoever I’m shooting with pop out at you. I want you to see the surroundings but also you see that individual just popping out perfectly.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I haven’t gotten lucky with much in my life or business-wise. Everything that has happened to me most cases was a result of my hard work or networking. I’ve created my own luck in a way.
