Daily Inspiration: Meet Alexandra Pina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Pina.

Alexandra Pina

Hi Alexandra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From a young age, Alexandra was certain of her path – she wanted to work in the entertainment industry. Growing up in Venezuela, she found solace and inspiration in movies, TV shows, and books. Despite the political challenges, she left Venezuela at 17 years old to study in the U.S., earning degrees in Media and Communication Studies and Psychology from Florida State University.

Post-graduation, she faced a tough job market and struggled to find work in her field. Eventually, she found herself in Orlando, juggling various roles, including a position at a hospitality company and an assistant role at a private news outlet. Realizing the importance of understanding the business side of entertainment, she pursued a master’s degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University, graduating as Valedictorian.

Her journey continued with a role at a national talent agency, where she quickly advanced to an agent position, proving her capabilities and resilience. The 2020 pandemic prompted a shift in her priorities, leading Alexandra to seek a career that offered freedom and fulfillment.

After months of searching, in August 2021, Alexandra discovered virtual assistance, and by September, she had launched her own business. Within three weeks, she was fully booked and thriving as a virtual assistant. This role provided the freedom, financial stability, and balanced lifestyle she had always dreamed of.

Now, as a successful virtual assistant, Alexandra enjoys traveling the world, living a digital nomad lifestyle, setting her own schedule, and working with clients who respect and value her contributions. Alexandra also mentors aspiring virtual assistants, helping them achieve their own dreams of career freedom and global exploration.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Owning a business hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced my share of challenges. Surprisingly, the biggest struggle wasn’t finding clients; it was hiring the right team members. I initially assumed that client acquisition would be the toughest part, but I quickly realized that finding someone who aligns with your values and cares about your business as much as you do is a whole different challenge.

Hiring is like dating—it requires time, patience, and a lot of trial and error to find the perfect match. You’re not just looking for someone who can do the job, but for someone who’s truly invested in your business’s success. It’s a learning process, and while it’s been tough, it’s also been incredibly rewarding when I’ve found the right people who share my vision and passion.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What do you do?

I am a virtual assistant and virtual assistant mentor. I help entrepreneurs and small business owners manage the day-to-day operations of their businesses so they can focus on what they do best—growing their companies. In addition to offering virtual assistant services, I also mentor aspiring VAs, guiding them through the process of building their own successful businesses. I’ve combined my passion for organization, creativity, and helping others to create a thriving career that allows me to live life on my own terms.

What do you specialize in?

I specialize in business and social media management, with a particular focus on several key areas:

– Adding Work: I streamline administrative tasks, manage calendars, and handle emails, ensuring that my clients can focus on higher-level strategic decisions without getting bogged down by the small stuff.

– Course Creation and Launches: I assist with the development and launch of online courses, from content creation to marketing strategies, helping entrepreneurs share their knowledge and expertise with the world.

– Social Media Community Management: I foster and grow engaged online communities, managing social media platforms to create a strong, loyal following for my clients.

– Social Media Strategizing: I develop and implement effective social media strategies that align with my clients’ goals, ensuring that their online presence is both impactful and authentic.

– Content Editing: I edit and polish content to ensure that it is clear, engaging, and aligned with my clients’ brand voice.

What are you known for?

I’m known for traveling the world while working remotely. I’ve built a life that allows me to explore new places and cultures while continuing to provide top-notch services to my clients. My lifestyle is proof that it’s possible to have the freedom to travel and the stability of a successful career at the same time. I’ve become an advocate for the idea that you don’t have to choose between work and travel—you can have both.

What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of living my dream life at 29 years old. It wasn’t an easy journey, but I worked tirelessly to create a career that gives me the freedom, flexibility, and financial stability I always dreamed of. By 29, I achieved what many people spend a lifetime working towards: the ability to design my life on my own terms, doing work that I love, and seeing the world as I go.

What sets you apart from others?

What sets me apart from others is my belief that there are enough seats for everyone at the table. I don’t view other VAs or entrepreneurs as competition—I see them as part of a community where we can all thrive together. My only competition is myself, and I focus on continually improving, learning, and growing in my own journey. This mindset allows me to foster genuine connections, collaborate with others, and support those who are on similar paths. I believe that when one of us succeeds, we all do, and that’s a philosophy I bring into my work, my mentoring, and my life.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is that you must keep investing in yourself and your business. Entrepreneurship is an ever-evolving journey, and to succeed, you need to stay ahead of the curve. This means continuously learning, adapting, and expanding your skill set. Whether it’s investing in courses, attending workshops, seeking mentorship, or staying updated with industry trends, the key is to never become complacent.

I’ve learned that every investment I make—whether it’s time, money, or energy—into improving myself and my business pays off in ways that are often unexpected and profound.

Moreover, investing in yourself isn’t just about acquiring new skills; it’s also about nurturing your mindset. Entrepreneurship can be challenging, and maintaining a growth mindset is crucial. I’ve realized that the more I invest in my personal development—through reading, networking, and self-reflection—the more resilient and adaptable I become.
