Daily Inspiration: Meet Alondra Y Brenda

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alondra Y Brenda.

Hi Alondra y Brenda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Alondra began dancing at 18 in New York, originally from Puerto Rico and raised in the U.S. Her training focused on Latin genres, especially sensual bachata with strong Spanish influence. After five months in New York, she moved to Orlando, Florida, where she trained for four years with renowned dancers like Korke & Judith, Marco & Sara, Luis & Andrea, and Daniel & Desiree. By combining their techniques with her creativity, she became a skilled social dancer and continues to develop her unique style. Alondra currently lives in Orlando with her dance partner, Brenda, whom she teamed up with in 2023. Together, they’ve built a social media following of over 100K and reached more than 10 million people with their art.

Brenda started dancing at 14 as a way to socialize. Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, she was influenced by salsa and other Latin styles. Shortly after her first salsa class, she joined a performance team and trained in stage presence, ballet technique, and styles like Casino and Salsa On1. She learned mambo and bachata socially before joining a bachata team where she practiced modern, sensual, and cabaret-style bachata. She competed nationally, including at the World Salsa Summit. After the pandemic, she focused on social dancing and began sharing her dancing on Instagram, eventually growing a following of over 65K and reaching more than 10 million people. Brenda now lives in Orlando and dances with her partner Alondra, focusing on sensual bachata with Spanish influence, while honoring the Caribbean rhythms of their roots Cuba and Puerto Rico.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a challenging process, our styles of working and communicating are different, but we’ve learned to grow through it and collaborate effectively. Together, we’ve built something we’re proud of.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are bachata artists and instructors based in Florida, and we’ve been working together as dance partners for the past two years. Our journey has been both challenging and exciting marked by international travel, meaningful connections, and unforgettable experiences. We specialize in bachata sensual, blending both of our individual styles and dynamics to create something unique and expressive.

What we’re most proud of is the safe, inclusive space we’ve built for anyone who wants to learn and grow through bachata. The support and energy we’ve received from the community has been incredible, and we’re genuinely excited for what’s to come and everything we’re continuing to create together.

How do you think about happiness?
What truly makes us happy is seeing the hard work we’ve poured into our passion begin to open doors and bring beautiful opportunities. Traveling to places we never imagined, all while doing what we love, dancing, feels like a dream. We’re grateful for the memories we’re creating, the meaningful connections we’re building, and the chance to grow in a field that brings us joy. Sharing our knowledge, learning from those we admire, and continuing to evolve together as artists is something we feel incredibly blessed to experience.
