Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Cintron.
Hi Ana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Puerto Rico and remember coming to Orlando on vacation as a child and thinking that it would be amazing to live here and to be able to come to the theme parks any time I wanted! So, when I first moved to Orlando (around nine years ago) the first thing I did was get annual passes to Disney World and Universal Studios. Ever since then, I’ve been going to the parks at least three times a month and have always loved sharing the joy that being there brings me. I combined that with my passion for photography, fashion, and food and decided to launch my tourism and style blog, Orange & Main. It has been completely self-taught and I built my website from scratch all by myself. The name is a combination of Orange Ave which runs east to west through downtown Orlando and surrounding areas and the Magic Kingdom iconic entrance of Main Street USA.
Orange & Main (O&M) is my love letter to theme parks, food, style, and fun and unique things to do around Orlando and its surrounding neighborhoods. I absolutely love exploring the newest shops, local events, and restaurants & bars. When it comes to the parks I love to scout the best secret spots for photos, the best food spots, all while incorporating my own personal style of how to dress for the parks.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every step for me has been self-taught, from learning photography techniques, to editing, posting on the blog, and growing a following. I bought a DSLR camera some years ago and I’m still learning the tips and tricks to get the best angles and photos. It’s a challenging industry because it is very saturated, constantly changing, and very easy to get caught in comparing yourself to others. The best thing to do is to be authentic and truly enjoy what you’re doing. That will radiate through your work and you will see even more growth!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Aside from running Orange & Main, I work as an event planner here in Orlando. I have been working in events for eight years now and it’s another big passion of mine. I specialize in corporate events and I love the logistics, creativity, and complexity behind the scenes of a big event. Through both blogging and event planning, I’m most proud of the community I’ve become a part of and all of the amazing people I have met through the years!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe the harder you work, the luckier you get. I definitely feel lucky to have had the opportunity to move to Orlando and to have met and have worked with so many wonderful people. Luck is a relative thing, and I have learned that in life and in business whether a situation is good or bad, you have the chance to turn it around and create your own luck.
