Today we’d like to introduce you to Annie Muniz.
Hi Annie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Our journey began 28 years ago in New York, where I first discovered my love for design and floral artistry. My biggest inspiration was my mother, who had a natural talent for creating beauty in every space. I learned so much from her—skills, techniques, and most importantly, the heart behind the craft.
As time went on, I joined forces with someone who shared that same passion—my now-husband and business partner. Together, we’ve built Modern Chic and Unique Events with a vision for creating stylish, personalized, and unforgettable celebrations. Our love for creative, modern events continues to drive everything we do.
What started as a family passion has grown into a full-service event and floral design business, and now, with our first brick-and-mortar location, we’re excited to bring even more magic to life for our clients.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, we faced our fair share of challenges—especially in the early days. Balancing family life while building a business from the ground up took a lot of patience, sacrifice, and late nights.
There were seasons where we had limited resources, worked out of small spaces, and had to learn so many aspects of running a business on our own. Transitioning from New York to Florida also came with its own hurdles—establishing ourselves in a new community and rebuilding our client base from scratch.
But through every challenge, our passion never wavered. Each obstacle helped us grow stronger, smarter, and more determined. Looking back, those tough moments shaped the heart and resilience behind Modern Chic and Unique Events. They remind us why we started and push us to keep reaching for more.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
