Today we’d like to introduce you to BAHLAM .
Hi BAHLAM, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story begins when I discovered what dubstep was at the age of 12, the first producer I heard was Skrillex, his strong, aggressive and unique sounds were what caught my attention, later I met DJ Blend and that was where I began to delve into it. in this world of EDM, and I knew that I wanted to dedicate myself to this, combining the style of the two of them was what I started with this project and that’s why the mask and the genre of edm
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting to this point has not been easy, my entire family has been part of military life and they wanted me to continue with that legacy. I didn’t know that I could study music production to achieve my dream, so I stopped trying for almost 10 years. Once I turned 20 I started going to raves like EDC, Forbidden Kingdom, etc., and my dream of being a DJ and producer awakened again, I started working very hard and saved enough money to buy my basic equipment and I started studying with producers who have already played at these raves already mentioned. Months passed and I improved, my family realized that this made me happy and that was where I began to receive their support, thanks to that you could say that the path became easier. Now I’m working very hard on my projects because I’m looking the opportunity to play at EDC Las Vegas
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I make music in the dubstep genre, my main subgenre or the one I enjoy doing the most is tearout.
I am known for the jaguar mask and that is what stands out from others, also because I am working on my sound, I am implementing pre-Hispanic sounds, mainly from the Mayan culture.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Mainly my family is the one who deserves credit because without them I would not be at this point, also to my music production teachers “Rvmdon” and “Youth in circles”
