Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Accorto.
Hi Bailey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started by bringing a point-and-shoot to concerts and getting whatever I could with what I had. I began sending my portfolio to artists’ teams and asking for photo passes. Logic’s team was friendly enough to give me a pass for his show in Tampa. After that, I contacted a local venue and publication and began shooting for them.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a challenging road. Many times, I don’t shoot anything for a while, which has become discouraging. Recently I went on a long streak of not getting approved for local concerts, and I started to lose my passion. Instead, I started shooting sports, which really gave me the excitement I had when I began photography.
Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.
I specialize in concert photography, but I’ve been transitioning more into sports photography. I’m most proud of the friendships I’ve made through photography. Most of the people I talk to daily are people I met because of photography.
