Today we’d like to introduce you to Baili Holland.
Hi Baili, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Photography has been a lifelong hobby for me. I started in elementary school, my best friend and I would take cameras to a nature park across the street from her house and take photos of anything and everything we could. It remained a hobby through high school. When I had my first daughter I picked up my camera again to take photos of her and it just snowballed from there. Friends asked me to document their families and my husband encouraged me to make it a business. I was very scared, but I also knew I didn’t want to have to go back to bartending and be away from my daughter much.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been the total opposite of smooth, but that kept it interesting. I jumped into motherhood and owning a business at the age of 21. There were a lot of people who openly doubted me, but I think that is what kept me going, I love proving people wrong. The photography industry, especially in Central Florida, is a very saturated industry. There are SO many photographers in the area and not all of them believe in community over competition. I was the young new face to the scene and I wasn’t exactly welcomed with open arms. The photography industry is also always changing, it was hard for me to realize keeping up with the trends was not necessary, it is more important to build your unique brand and stay true to yourself.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Professional Photographer. I specialize in beach portraits and work primarily with Maternity clients and extended families. So many people are so nervous to stand in front of a camera and I have learned how to make them feel comfortable and confident along with having fun while doing it. I am most proud of my client experience, knowing that I can take someone who typically hates taking photos and make the experience fun and stress free for them is so special, everyone deserves to be documented with their loved ones, it shouldn’t have to feel like a chore. Many clients tell me that reading the reviews on others experiences with me that reflect the fun and laid back nature is ultimately why they choose working with me and is what set me aside from others.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
The best way to support any creatives currently is support on social media and google reviews! It is so simple to help us continue to be successful. I have a website, bailirosephotography.com , where many of my clients contact me through. My instagram @bailirosephotography is where I typically connect with other photographers to collaborate on ideas!
