Daily Inspiration: Meet Barbara Ridolfi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Barbara Ridolfi

Hi Barbara, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
After completing my Bachelor of Business Administration in Graphic Design from a university in Venezuela, I realized I wanted to combine my passion for design with the business world. I taught design, typography, and illustration for over five years while running my design and marketing company, serving diverse clients.

In 2011, my family and I moved to the United States. I continued to grow my design and marketing services, catering to clients across various industries, including hospitality, education, religion, and even Formula 2 pilot and car dealerships. However, the global pandemic posed unforeseen challenges, and many clients were forced to withdraw. This prompted me to reconsider my professional approach.

I decided to pursue my long-held dream of creating my designs and products, which led to the birth of my brand, Sincerely Barbie. The real breakthrough came when a crafter influencer on Instagram, Lucy (known as @lucycreatess), purchased one of my designs and turned it into a product. Following this event, other crafters and small business owners started following me on social media and purchasing my designs from my Etsy Shop for their projects.

I discovered that I was doing what I loved most: designing and helping others achieve their dream of owning a business. My designs, inspired by positivity, good vibes, and various interests, such as the everyday lives of moms, coffee or tea lovers, pet owners, passionate readers, and religious devotees, reflect my identity and what I want to convey to the world. Nothing satisfies me more than seeing others use my designs to express their creativity and grow their businesses. I am honored to be an ally to those who struggle with design but trust me to help them succeed. Today, I am fully dedicated to my passion for designing art that reflects my essence, fuels the dreams of others, and contributes to the growth of small entrepreneurs worldwide.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has been challenging. There have been many significant challenges. It was difficult to start a new business during so much uncertainty, especially with the unexpected problems caused by the global pandemic. Another challenge was making a name for myself in a market where many others were already doing similar things. Despite these challenges, my dedication, determination, and promise to help small business owners worldwide have kept me going. But I know there is still a lot of work to do. Although I have enjoyed every day of my journey, I am still not where I want to be, but I am enjoying it one day at a time. Let’s see what God has in store for me in the future. I move forward with a lot of love!

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on? What do you do?
I am a professional graphic designer passionate about creating digital designs that convey a meaningful message and reflect my values. My designs are primarily motivational, radiate positive energy, and are made with love for anyone who wants to use them, whether for personal or commercial purposes. My customers are crafters, DIY enthusiasts, and business owners.

What are you known for?
People know me for putting my heart into creating art that spreads happiness and gets people feeling creative. My designs are famous for connecting with many people, like moms, coffee and tea lovers, pet owners, bookworms, and religious people. I love using the color pink in my social media posts, and I’m pretty good at making videos that show off different brands and how to use my designs to make cool stuff with other materials.

What are you most proud of?
I am proud to see other crafters or entrepreneurs making a name for themselves using my designs. It feels amazing not just to see my designs being used but to see them become excellent products with excellent materials and colors because, you know, the designs are like the starting point, but the final product counts.

What sets you apart from others?
What makes me stand out is how I pour my heart into my designs. Whether it’s a cheerful saying or a burst of colors, my designs are all about showing who I truly am. Some quotes I use might not be brand-new, but they speak to me and inspire me to create something unique. Whether you’re checking out my Etsy shop, scrolling through my Instagram, or visiting my website, you’re getting a glimpse into who I am. We’re all one-of-a-kind, and being genuine makes each of us unique. Even if we use the same colors or fonts, our unique stories and perspectives make our creations as different as fingerprints.
