Today we’d like to introduce you to Bee Pruitt.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a former Walt Disney World cast member that was let go during the COVID-19 pandemic, I found a lot of comfort in enjoying the entertainment offerings of Universal Orlando Resort. I made friends in performers that appreciated my enthusiasm and whom I learned had very limited means to share their passion for performance with others, especially family that could not visit due to living thousands of miles away. I already enjoyed the concept of photography through my phone, so I invested in my very first camera in 2020 and have made it a point to give back the joy that performers give me through photography. I’ve branched out from Universal to other theme parks, dinner shows, and stage theatre, practically never leaving my apartment without my camera.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m currently in graduate school in Georgia, so the desire to stay up to date with new offerings, planned individual photoshoots, and being present for certain performers’ requests all comes back to whether or not I’m able to commute while maintaining my education. So far, the balance has been more than possible, and I’m very excited to see where the future of my degree takes me in regards to living permanently in Orlando while working in my chosen field.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a photographer that enjoys capturing performance in still form and bringing out one’s best features to represent them as an artist. I see it the way I see my own wants: I know that, if it were me, I’d love for someone to take a moment in time and present it back to me. My joy comes from the appreciation people have for my work, as their performance has affected me as well and there’s nothing quite like giving it back.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I’ve always told people back home that Orlando always has something to do, and I wouldn’t be the same without it. The constant introduction of something new as well as access to practically any shop, restaurant, or entertainment venue imaginable is incomparable to my hometown. However, that busy nature also comes with traffic and construction that can definitely throw a wrench into one’s travel ETA.
