Daily Inspiration: Meet Brandon Andino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Andino.

Brandon Andino

Hi Brandon, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Art has been something I’ve surrounded myself around since I was a kid, it was the only true way I could express myself. I started taking photos back in high school where I’d put together streetwear outfits, pose in them, and post it to instagram. I loved having that creative freedom; combining different colors and clothing pieces together to make an outfit that felt like me. I wasn’t sure where I wanted to head with my career just yet, but I enjoyed modeling and fashion so that’s what I stuck to. If you asked me during that time where I saw myself today, I would have never thought that I’d become a photographer. It just wasn’t something I had ever thought of pursuing. But it’s been the greatest opportunity life has given me to show the world who I am and what I can do. I picked up my first professional camera (Canon T6i) 2 years ago and captured the world as I saw it. I started with architecture and then slowly transitioned into portraits. I began to fall in love with storytelling & editorial work. As an artist it’s motivating to see your work be brought to life. I didn’t realize it at first, but there’s a beauty to photos. A chance to freeze time, capture emotions, and tell a story through your lens.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Overall it’s been a pretty smooth road, it definitely takes time to learn what your settings do, how to pose your models, and spend the time to find your editing style. When I first started I was very introverted. I spent most of my years keeping to myself and only speaking when spoken to. I quickly understood that if I wanted to take my photography seriously I’d have to walk out my comfort zone and meet new people. I can tell you the more connections you make, the better. Connections are the key to growth.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an editorial/fashion photographer who specializes in the usage of my expertise and hands-on experience to create long lasting memories. Within the Orlando community I’ve started to become known for my ability to deliver emotion and tell a story within my photos. My goal is to have you look at each set and be able to feel what the model is feeling and really dwell yourself into the scenery. I am most proud of how far I’ve come within these past two years, you never really see the progress you’ve made until you take a step back and reflect on it. One thing I can proudly say that sets me apart from others is the experience you get when you work with me. It’s more than just photos, these are memories that are being made and stories that are being formed.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
During the early stages of my photography career I had a photographer by the name of Jacob Sierra who was kind enough to let me shadow him on multiple photoshoots. This allowed me to study posing, lighting techniques, and how to proficiently operate a camera via manual mode. Later on I participated in my first editorial shoot with a group of creatives in the Orlando area. There I ended up meeting a photographer by the name of Camila Mojica, who then later became my close friend and teammate whom I’ve gotten to work with on many projects.
