Hi Brandon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Around three years ago, my wife and I were discussing various things, and me starting a business came up. It wasn’t really at the forefront of my mind because I work full time to provide for our family and my wife is the natural entrepreneur. So she said something to me that made sense, she said: “Everyone asks you to play music at every function because you always have the best music lists. It’s time to monetize your skillset.” So I started secretly researching equipment and pricing things here and there, and also reflecting back that my dad was a Dj when I was a young child. So it just kind of made sense. I love music, and now I get paid to provide quality sound and music for an array of events.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, yes. The only struggles that I seem to face are scheduling conflicts with my full-time job and my coaching job. Outside of that, my wife pretty much handles the administration of the company, and I show up for the fun stuff. I mean I do help but not as much.

At Shaw Sound Entertainment, our goal is to provide clear, crisp sound and music for our clients. In the planning phase, we make sure to get their must-haves and what to stay away from. We also obtain a list of their favorite artists, songs, etc. by asking different questions to assist us in curating a custom music list for their event. This helps to elevate customer satisfaction in the best way!

- $50 retainer to reserve date
- $100 per hour for the event to include hosting
