Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Pitt.
Hi Chad, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Haha, no day is ever the same. That’s the beauty with my job. Typically, my alarm goes off at 3:15 am. Usually out of the house and at work by 4:30. Once in the studio, I cruise the local news sites to see what’s unfolded overnight. Our show goes from 5-10 am each weekday. Once the show is over, we begin preparing for the next day. We also have some production (i.e., commercials) that need to be voiced. Usually, home by 12 noon or 1p. Eat lunch, take a nap, take the dog for a walk, or some form of outdoor exercise. Begin compiling things that have transpired during the day for the following day’s show. Make dinner and try to be in bed before 8 pm so I can do it all over again.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve never been on a smooth road. I believe it’s all in how you maneuver around the potholes. Rejection is part of life. Never give up on something you believe you were meant to do.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I co-host Chad and Leslye in the Morning on Magic 107.7 in Orlando. Les and I have been together for almost 5 years, although have known one another for 20+. I’m so incredibly proud of this brand we’ve built together. Orlando already has so many legendary morning radio shows. We like to think of our show as, “Will & Grace” on the radio. Two good friends inviting our listeners over for a glass of wine and a laugh.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
First and foremost, my parents. This isn’t exactly the most stable career choice. Yet, they always believed I had a talent to share. Supporting me every step of the way. Truth be told, I haven’t made one career choice without consulting with my dad. Secondly, Leslye Gale. She has been doing mornings at Magic for 20+ years. She handpicked me to carry on the legacy she’s built. The Magic 107.7 brand has reinvented itself over the years, but Leslye continues to be the foundation of this station.
