Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe and Steven.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We have both been huge fans of the theme parks and everything that Orlando has had to offer for a number of years. When we first got together, we instantly sparked our shared love and admiration of Disney World and Universal. Now, nearly five years later, we are still frequent flyers to the sunshine state and aim to visit at least two to three times a year.
Being based in the UK, we are always looking to explore new ways to escape the every day which is where the idea for Parks and Pals stemmed from. We are a theme park and exploration podcast talking all things adventure.
Together, we discuss the latest updates, share magical memories, and invite others to share their experiences on why they love Orlando.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
One of the obstacles we faced early in our relationship was the distance between the UK and Florida. Six months into our relationship, Chloe was offered the opportunity to complete the Cultural Representative Program held by Disney in Epcot Park. Unfortunately, a further six months passed and the world was hit by the pandemic which sadly meant Chloe had to return.
I guess you could say we were both looking for a way to keep Orlando as close as possible and through the many friendships made out there, we were able to stay thoroughly entertained during the lockdowns.
Now, we have the freedom to explore again, we seek every non-working opportunity to be out in the theme parks creating new memories and sharing our adventures with the community we are building.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We have both been creatives for most of our careers. We both studied theatre at university and have worked in the performance and entertainment industry since leaving.
With Parks and Pals, we create a weekly podcast that offers tips and insights into the theme parks and entertainment around Orlando, UK, and the rest of the world. As well as this, we run a TikTok and Instagram that acts as an extension to the podcast, so we explore a few forms of media to build our brand.
We pride ourselves on building and developing a community of followers that share in our love for the subject. We are so proud to be able to share our memories and advice for those who have never ventured to Orlando, with the seasoned Disney pros, and we are grateful to learn from so many wonderful people around the globe.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I think everyone became more tech-savvy through the pandemic and we were the same. With so many friends spread around the country and the globe, it was paramount that we were able to communicate and help each other through this difficult time.
We spent hours playing online escape rooms and watching vlogs together, so the minute the restrictions were lifted we were not going to waste a moment.
For the podcast, it meant we can easily have guests from anywhere in the world, so what started as two fans in their living room is now growing into a global community.
